L'album a été enregistré dans les studios "Eldorado" à Los Angeles avec le producteur vétéran Rob Cavallo. Le bassiste Mikey Way a déclaré : "We all have records that shaped our childhood and teen years. When you hear a song, it shoots you back to a moment in time. We want this album to do that for people. We want the entire world to be moved." Ce nouvel album fait suite à "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge", sorti en 2004 et vendu à plus de 1,4 millions d'exemplaires.   Inrocks 2006 : un début de programme L'édition 2006... ...du festival Inrock débutera le 9 novembre.
