"Mother And Child" est un cadeau de noël pour sa femme Heather et sa fille Beatrice. Un ami proche de McCartney a déclaré au Sun : "Paul didn't want to give Heather just jewellery this year. The song is the best way he could think of to show how much he loves Heather and Bea. He will play the song for them on Christmas Day." Il ajouté : "He is determined this song belongs to Heather. And he wants Bea to cherish it as she grows up." "Mother And Child" a été écrit par McCartney pendant les années 60 et n'a jamais été terminée. Cette chanson devait figure sur l'album "Let It Be".   The Vines revient avec un second album Cette nouveauté sera dans les bacs le 8 mars The Vines sortira "Winning Days", précédé d'un premier single intitulé "Ride" le 23 février. L'album a été enregistré dans un studio de Bearsville près de New York, sous la direction du producteur Rob Schnapf. Patrick Matthews bassiste du groupe a déclaré : "The album could have gone either way. We could have ended up at each other's throats because we were out in the middle of nowhere. But there was only one day like that out of three months." Le musicien a ajouté au sujet des sonorités de l'album : "The harder songs are harder and the softer songs are maybe the ones which have improved more. It's more psychedelic than the first record. Just like 'Highly Evolved' there's a few snotty punk ones and then there are the slow songs which have the real mellotron sound on it."
