REM n'avait pas pris la route depuis 1999, cette virée débutera le 1er septembre de Seattle. REM se fera la main en Europe, à partir du 27 juin, en participant au festival de "Glastonbury". Le groupe travaille actuellement sur son prochain album, produit par la Warner Bros et dont la sortie est annoncée pour le début de l'année 2004. Information confirmée par le bassiste John Paul Jones.   Après 5 ans d'absence, les Cramps reviennent avec un nouvel album Le légendaire groupe punk, The Cramps s'apprête à livré à ses fans un nouvel album, album qui sera accompagné d'une tournée en Angleterre. Formé en 1975, The Cramps, composé en partie, du leader et chanteur Lux Interior et du guitariste Poison Ivy, a enregistré l'album "Fiends of Dope Island", disponible à partir du 21 avril. L'attaché de pressed du groupe a déclaré que l'album était "a musical equivalent of a 13 car pile-up. It is animal music, all primal urge and J.D. madness." Le fondateur et guitariste des Cramps, Bryan Gregory est décédé en 2001, des suite d'une pneumonie, à l'age de 46 ans.   Green Day rejoint le clan ''anti-guerre'' Le groupe, Green Day a mis en ligne gratuitement, sur le site www.greenday.com, la chanson "Life During Wartime", composé par le leader Billie Joe Armstrong. Cette chanson est accompagnée d'un message du bassiste Mike Dirnt : "First all, f*ck this war since, you know, it's not my war, and it's not your war. I'm not gonna watch it on TV, none of us are, we're not going to support it in any way, shape or form. We're just going to concentrate on our music and try and put something positive into the world outside of anything else that has been distracting us. So, everybody out there, do what you do, have fun doing it, try and live your lives, and don't support this crap that's going on in the world." Green Day rejoint ainsi le clan des opposants à la politique guerrière du gouvernement américain, Lenny Kravitz, REM, les Beastie Boys, Zach de la Rocha et DJ Shadow.   Les Strokes enregistrent deux nouvelles chansons Le groupe est actuellement, dans un studio de New York, où il travaille avec le producteur de Radiohead, Nigel Godrich, sur les chansons qui composeront son prochain album. Le leader des Strokes, Ryan Gentles, a révélé, que son groupe travaillait avec Godrich, depuis plus de deux semaines et poursuivrait cette collaboration jusqu'à la fin de l'enregistrement de l'album qui fera suite à "Is This It", sorti en 2001. Gentles a déclaré que sur son second album, figuraient des chansons interprétées pendant les festivals de "Reading" et "Leeds" 2001, notamment : "You Talk Way Too Much" , "The Way It Is", "I Can't Win" et "Meet Me In The Bathroom", mais qu'il comporterait aussi quelques nouveautés. Les Strokes n'ont pas prévu de tournée cette été, préférant se consacré à la finition de cet album. Gentles a ajouté : "I can confirm that there will not be any touring until this album is completed the band needs to have 100% focus in the recording studio, so don't look for The Strokes to be touring until after completion of the album."
