Après un bout d'essai en février dernier, réalisateur et maison de production n'ont pas donné suite à cete candidature.   DVD : Une Anthologie des Beatles Un documentaire qui date de 1995, Et qui sortira le 31 mars prochain. Tous les fans des Beatles pourront voir des images inédites, des extraits footage des dernières prestations de Paul, George and Ringo, interprétant des chansons qui ne figurent pas dans le répertoire des Beatles. Un coffret de 5 DVD, représentant plus de 12 mois de tournage, une rencontre inédite des 3 ex-Beatles, dans les studios de Abbey Road, l'enregistrement en studio de "Free As A Bird and Real Love".   DVD : Live, Black Sabbath Un DVD live intitulé, "Never Say Die – Live In 1978", enregistré pendant la tournée "Never Say Die", en 1978. Le film proposera des images footage de Black Sabbath, notamment pendant son concert de "Hammersmith Odeon", à Londres. 1 heure de musique pour tous les fans d'un groupe de légende. Cette tournée fera la promotion du premier album solo du musicien, "Paper Monsters". Cet album sort chez Reprise, le 3 juin et le lendemain chez Mute, dans le reste du monde. Composé de 10 chanson, il a été produit par Ken Thomas (Sigur Ros), et sera précédé de la sortie du single "Dirty Sticky Floors", le 19 mai. Gahan a déclaré sur son site : "What really hit me most was how happy and fulfilled it made me feel. I wanted to hear something that makes me feel good. That's been the train of thought throughout this record, and Ken's been really great with that. The most important thing to me was that all of the songs have a sense of humour, but at the same time a message of hope and faith." Le membre fondateur du mythique groupe, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gary Rossington, se remet d'une intervention chirurgicale, dans un hôpital de Atlanta. Le cardiologue qui a suivi l'opération a déclaré : "He was taken immediately to surgery and had a successful quintuple bypass. He is doing extremely well and a full recovery is expected within two to three months." Du fait de cette intervention, Lynyrd Skynyrd a repoussé la sortie de son nouvel album "Vicious Cycle", prévu chez Sanctuary, le 6 mai. Cet album sortira finalement en juin. La tournée promotionnelle est elle aussi repoussée, au 25 mai. Les autres membres du groupe ont déclaré : "Gary is doing fine after his surgery, and we want him to take the time to properly recover so he can return to his first love, which is the band he started 30 years ago. For all the fans who've bought tickets to the upcoming shows and who've been waiting for the new album, hang in there -- we'll be back soon." Le dernier album de Lynyrd Skynyrd, "Edge of Forever" (CMC International), est sorti en 1999 et avait attaint la 96ème position du "Billboard 200". En 2000, MCA avait produit "The Millennium Collection: The Best of Lynyrd Skynyrd" et l'année suivante la maison de disques avait remasterisé les hits du groupes, "Nuthin' Fancy" (1975), "One More From the Road" (1976), "Street Survivors" (1977), et le tout premier album "Pronounced "Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd" (1973).   Placebo sort son quatrième album "Sleeping With Ghosts", le nouvel album du groupe de glam rock britannique, Placebo, sera dans les bacs chez "Astralwerks/Hut Recordings", le 1er avril. Cet album fera suite à "Black Market Music", sorti en 2000. Il a été produit par Jim Abbiss, qui a travaillé avec DJ Shadow, Bjork, Massive Attack, et Sneaker Pimps. Brian Molko,leader et chanteur de Placebo, a déclaré : "The idea of working with somebody who wasn't a big rock producer, and was going to challenge us on every level of our songwriting, really excited us. When we go home we listen to a lot of electronica and sort of more beats-based stuff, simply because you spend a lot of time listening to distorted guitars when you're in a guitar band. It's something we're quite obsessed by." Molko a ajouté : "We took an eight month break before we did this record. I think at that point we were able for the first time to get some distance from the roller coaster ride we had just been on for quite some time, take stock of what we achieved artistically and think about what experiments were successful, and what we do best as well." Le groupe fera une tournée en Angleterre, au mois d'avril, puis se lancera dans une irée européenne, en juin.   Nouveau CD pour Stryper Le groupe de metal, Stryper, sort un "The Best of Stryper", le 25 mars, chez Hollywood Records. Le groupe est composé du leader Michael Sweet, de son frère et guitariste Robert Sweet, du guitariste Oz Fox, et du bassiste Tim Gaines. Ils ont enregistré deux nouvelles chansons, "Something" et "For You", qui ont été ajoutées à la compilation.
