Ackerlund a déclaré à ce sujet : "We had worked together before many times, so I gave him the script because I wanted to see what he thought about it. And he came back and said, 'I'll do the music.' So I said, 'OK.' But he had one condition. He wanted a role in the movie, so he's got a brief scene where he's this doctor under this wig." Le film, qui est ressorti sur les écrans, l'année dernière, a été re-masterisé et la bande son re-mixée par une vieille connaissance de Bowie, Tony Visconti. Le DVD propose un live enregistré en juillet 1973, au "Hammersmith Odeon" de Londres. Les fans auront droit en bonus aux commentaires des D.A. Pennebaker et Visconti, qui avaient produit les grands classiques du chanteur : "Low" et "Heroes", ou encore le plus récent "Heathen" (sorti chez ISO/Columbia) Le double CD propose en bonus la version longue de "The Width of a Circle". Le chanteur Bon Scott et les membres actuels du groupe, recevant cet honneur, tandis que Mark Evans est exclus. Il a commenté ce fait sur le site www.Blabbermouth.net : "Sydney's Sunday Sun-Herald newspaper [on Jan. 19] reported an unprecedented backflip by the U.S. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It was proudly announced by the Hall of Fame on November 7, 2002 that all current members of seminal blues-rock outfit AC/DC plus foundation members Mark Evans (bass) and Bon Scott (vocals) would be inducted in March 2003. It was revealed [on Sunday, Jan. 19] by Sunday Sun-Herald journalist Peter Holmes that in an unprecedented move the Hall of Fame has now retracted the nomination of Mark Evans. Despite his work featured on four classic albums released by the band ('TNT', 'Dirty Deeds', 'Let there be Rock' and 'High Voltage' US release) that have amassed an amazing 30 million sales worldwide, Mark was offered no explanation for this astonishing turnaround. Suzan Evans, Executive Director of the Hall of Fame, stated just prior to Xmas that Mark's inclusion, and the fact that this was widely publicized by the Hall of Fame since early November, was 'an error'. Many requests for clarification of this statement and an explanation of the extraordinary actions by the Hall of Fame have met with no success. The extreme embarrassment and personal hurt that this has caused Mark is obvious. We urge any admirers of the band to implore industry and media contacts to lobby the Hall of Fame in an attempt to have this situation rectified. Further, anyone in direct contact with the band should make them aware of this erroneous decision. They should be encouraged to bring pressure to bare on the board of the Hall of Fame so that Mark's nomination can be reinstated and he can take his rightful position alongside Bon & the current members."   U2 a démarré l'enregistrement d'un nouvel album Cette information a été confirmée, Par Bono et The Edge, pendant la cérémonie de remise des "Golden Globe", au cours de laquelle le groupe U2 a été récompensé pour sa chanson "The Hands That Built America", figurant sur la B.O de "Gangs Of New York". Bono a déclaré : "We're banging the dustbin lids back home in Dublin. Edge, I must say, is really doing some extraordinary stuff. It's a guitar record. Which is, I think, our first." The Edge a ajouté : "It's at the beginning. We're working on the songs right now. There's some nice stuff coming through." Bono a aussi clâmé son admiration pour les grands nom du Rock & Roll : "I love singles in rock'n'roll, the great 45s. That's what I loved about Nirvana, that's what I loved about the Sex Pistols, and going back to The Beatles and Rolling Stones - when you make that one record that changes everything."   The Yeah Yeah Yeahs a terminé son premier album. Le trio New Yorkais, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs est actuellement en Angleterre, pour terminer le mixage de "Fever To Tell", avec Alan Moulder, qui a travaillé avec les groupes JJ72, Ash, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins et U2. L'album sera dans les bacs le mois prochain.
