Un message du musicien commente cette vente : "I've decided to sell my car. I hinted at it in my diary the other week but the time has finally come. I still love you Max, but it's never going to work out!. He's still the best looking car in Glasgow. His spotlight is broke and some tough ripped a mirror off him, but he can't be matched. I want him to go to someone who has more time than me to look after him. I am a disgrace to the family of engineers to which I was born into. If you're going to buy Max you need to be able to do a little bit of work on him, or know someone who will do it for you. He's running great! That's the irony. He's just had a reconditioned lead free engine put in. New starter, new set of tires. He's automatic, power-steered, almost thirty and proud of it. The engine's V6, but it's not shy at the petrol pump I'm afraid. I'm going to auction him and I'll give the money to Friends of The Earth Scotland. If you want a new record your going to have to buy the car. I just don't have the time to look after him. He's insured with Classic Car Insurance for a year, but you'll need to fix a couple of things before he gets his MOT. Insurance is CHEAP by the way. Please someone buy him and preserve him so I can come round and see him on occasion. I would be very grateful. Tell you what, whoever buys the car can get themselves and a friend into our shows for nothing for the next five years. We'll make you a special pass or something. Il a déclaré : "I'm hiring a band. There's a guitar player, bass player and drummer. I'm totally excited. I think the guys I've got totally rock, and I like Dashboard Confessional. That will be fun and I'm looking forward to headlining. I'll pull out some Old 97's songs and make it a long set." Miller fait la promotion de son premier album solo, "The Instigator", sorti le mois dernier. L'album a été enregistré à Los Angeles, sous la direction du producteur Jon Brion, (qui a déjà travaillé avec Fiona Apple et Aimee Mann. Les Red Hot Chili Peppers avaient prévu un show au "Garuda Wisnu Kencana", le 14 décembre. Ce concert aurait été le dernier de la tournée 2002 du groupe. Les dates prévues aux Philippines, à Singapour et en Thaïlande, n'ont pas été annulées pour le moment. Par contre le projet de ce 3ème opus a été confirmé, avec au casting Stockard Channing (Rizzo), Jeff Conaway (Kenickie) et Didi Conn (Frenchy). John Travolta et Olivia Newton-John pourraient être aussi de la partie.
